This project remains one of our absolute favorite basement renovations to date! Designed with ultimate entertainment in mind, this space proves that basements don’t have to feel like an afterthought. The custom basement bar serves as the stunning focal point that ties the entire room together.
Seamless Cabinetry & Design
For the foundation of the bar, we specifically selected Waypoint cabinetry in the elegant 650F door style. The Cherry Spice finish was chosen to perfectly match the client’s existing pool table, and seeing it in person, the color coordination is flawless!
Basement renovations often present unique architectural challenges. Here, we had to work around a bulky HVAC soffit. Our design solution was to seamlessly incorporate the soffit right into the cabinetry layout, making the room feel intentional and fully finished. Finally, corbels were added to provide necessary countertop support while enhancing the classic aesthetic—proving why it pays to work with a single, cohesive team for your remodeling needs.
The Perfect Countertop Match
The client initially envisioned a classic soapstone for this space. However, once they browsed our slab inventory and saw the Uba Tuba Leathered Granite, the decision changed instantly! The Uba Tuba Leathered finish does a phenomenal job of adding rich texture and deep dimension to the room, giving the bar a luxurious yet inviting feel.

Every great bar needs a name. This space pays loving homage to the client’s beloved cat, Figgy, who practically became a part of our own family throughout the remodeling process. We hope “The Black Cat Bar” brings joy, great drinks, and wonderful memories for years to come!
