Tile Installation
In the photo to the left a tile installation is in progress.Tile installs are all about the preparation. In this case the preparation involves installation of a electric heat mat and leveling the floor. Prior to installing the tiles an under-layment and thermostat wiring needs to take place. This work took place in Chester County, tile was a significant part of this remodeling project.
Before any of the preparation work can take place an engineered drawing of the floor was performed by the heat mat company (Tyco) in this case to be sure that the dual zone thermostats and the heat mats were sized correctly. This engineered drawing included specifications for the GFCI breaker and wire size to be installed by an electrician and wired at the thermostat.
Prior to the above items the floor was measured and tile requirements were calculated so that an estimate could be provided. Once the customer signed a contract and provided a deposit the prep work could begin and finally the tile could be set in place.
The end result is nice warm floors with two warming zones, one in the kitchen and another in the less used dining room. That is how tile installation at Stone Masters Inc. works. Click tile backsplash to see prices and examples of patterns, tile options and prices.
