Stone Masters is family owned and operated. When Dan and Ann Marie DiTomaso did their own kitchen they wanted to select stone slabs for their project. They searched and searched but found little. Finally they went to Lowes, only to be sent to a local fabrication facility that had a limited slab selection. They thought to themselves, there must be a better way. (This was back before the Internet made finding things easier.)
In the mid to late 90's Dan and Ann Marie were buying and selling houses. All of the houses received Granite kitchens and tile bathrooms. Dan would fabricate the stone counters and set the tile himself. The name of this company was Red Barn Repairs. Ann Marie would sell the houses that Dan renovated.
Dan and Ann Marie along with Dan's cousin Philip Longo started Stone Masters inc. in response to high prices and poor service that was available in the Chester County area. Dan and Philip traveled and studied the market. They studied stone production tools and equipment. They went to trade shows and met with stone importers and specialized equipment vendors. After considerable research and due diligence, they looked for space to set up a new company to be named Stone Masters Inc. Originally, Stone Masters Inc was located in Aston Pennsylvania.
With a few ads and word of mouth customers came. Dan and Philip performed every aspect of templating, fabrication, polishing and installation by themselves. Shortly thereafter, experienced fabricators, installers, and templators were hired.
Pretty soon they had a regular flow of jobs to perform and needed sales help. Ann Marie DiTomaso was a natural full time sales person. When Ann Marie started, so did Jack (The dog, I know, go figure).
The next major development was when they moved to Kennett Square. They invested in automation and hired and trained a team of designers to assist customers with overall shapes, edges, sink, faucets and back-splash designs and decisions.
A CNC, digital templating, photo slab layout software and a state of the art 60,000 PSI Jetsaw are in the current "tool-kit" making Stone Masters one of the areas most technologically advanced stone fabrication shops in the Delaware Valley.
In 2010 an experienced tile installation crew was added as well as licensed plumber to augment the product line and make our customer visions a reality.
Recently completed construction of an all new purpose built building for warehousing and showcasing stone slabs. This freed up existing space to expand capacity and allow customers to view stones "out of the weather".
It seems as if every year new products and services have been added, logically, methodically and in a controlled growth business model, starting with tile, followed by plumbing and removal, then cabinetry sales and full remodeling services including installation of all of the above products and services.
