What should I bring with me to select granite?

I’m planning on visiting the showroom.  What should I bring with me?

One of the first things we will ask you once you get here is whether you’ve brought a sketch.  Don’t worry about making it anything fancy, we just need the basic layout of the area you’re looking to do with each length and width marked for us in order to calculate the square footage.  It’s also helpful to draw in things like your sink, the location of your cooktop/range, etc.  Having a drawing will make the next steps in the process go much quicker.

Many times people bring other samples that will be used in the same space; a cabinet door (or color swatch), flooring tiles, paint samples (even paint samples that are in adjoining rooms are sometimes helpful).  Your designer can help you incorporate the colors that you already have or wish to have and make recommendations on some appropriate stone selections.  Once you select some initial options for granite, we’ll give you small samples to take home with you.  It’s always easier to review the pieces in your own environment where the lighting is truer and you can compare the stone to all the other elements of your home.
