Decorative_TileThe Decorative Tile shown to the left is tumbled marble installed on a diagonal. The overall back-splash is 4x4 travertine while the inset is a 1/2 inch mosaic with three 4x4s installed on a diagonal. The inset is framed with charail rail.

This shows what a little accent can do for an overall look and feel. Sometimes less is more.

All tile is decorative to some degree, but "decorative tiles" are not intended to be used as a field tile but instead as an accent, band or highlight to a field tile. A good application of a decorative tile might be in a kitchen back-splash inside of the framed insert behind the range.
