Quartz Counters

Stone Masters is a state of the art fabricator of all natural and engineered stone counter surfaces. We work with quartz, granite, marble, & soapstone. Quartz and quartz counters are often referred to as "solid surface" and are some times called engineered stone.

We work with nationally recognized brands such as Silestone, Hanstone, Cambria, and Caesarstone materials. Quartz appeals to people who are drawn to the low maintenance and a more consistent look as compared to granite.Quartz never needs to be sealed as it is manufactured with resins that completely encapsulate the natural quartz components within. This is very appealing because you never need to seal it or worry about staining.

Many people are surprised to learn that quartz is not completely without risk of damage. It can and does chip as no surface is chip proof. While It is extremely scratch resistant, again not scratch proof. It is nearly stain proof but not 100% guaranteed against any and all types of staining. The biggest drawback to quartz is the heat resistance is not as high as other materials such as granite or soapstone. Quartz can be damaged by heat and it is recommended by most if not all manufacturers of quartz that you use trivets to protect your quartz counter from direct heat. Color uniformity is again not guaranteed. from slab to slab you can have as much or more color variation as compared to granite, marble or soapstone. It is still a natural product and yet manufactured with a process that leaves room for color variation that may not be acceptable.
